Tieks. They are all the rage, or at least in the review world. You see reviews all over Pinterest about whether it is worth the money.
Well, I am just another reviewer, except I am a college student, which means I don’t have a lot of extra money sitting around, but who does these days? Do I still think they are worth it?
While it took me quite awhile to save up the money, but I bought my first pair shortly after Christmas.
About My Feet
I have always had a problem with flats as they never stayed on my feet. NEVER. With not only narrow feet but a narrow heel it is a struggle. Typically, any flats that do stay on my feet aren’t comfortable and wear out after one season. Also, my feet sweat a lot. I know that may be disgusting to some of you but I know I am not alone.
I wear a size 8-8.5 and on a rare occasion a size 9. Reviewers tend to advise that if you wear a half a size to size down, which for me was a size 8. The size 8 fit perfectly for my first pair, but my second pair did not fit well at all.
To be honest, I couldn’t even get them on my feet they were so small. Since I had not worn them outside yet (I couldn’t get them on so how would I wear them outside) Tieks happily sent me another pair for me to compare. Those fit perfectly!
They do stretch out as you wear them so having them loose they will only get looser, hence why they suggest going down a size if you wear half a size. Since they are a little snug in the beginning, I wore them everyday for a week and my toes were numb for the first couple days; however, the more I wore them the more they formed to my feet and no more numb toes! Never have I ever gotten a blister from these flats never.
Yes, I do have three pairs; however, I did not buy them all at full price. You can only return Tieks if you did not wear them outside. You can find different websites where individuals have worn them outside once maybe twice and decided they did not like them. Of course eBay is one site, but if you just Google the color and size you are looking for, you may be able to find them below regular price like I did.
Where Do I Wear Them?
Everywhere, I wear them to all my classes, my three part-time jobs, my internship, trips, the grocery store, and everywhere in-between. I will honestly put on real pants rather than yoga pants to be able to wear them. As a college student that is huge.
What Don’t I Like About Them?
Besides the price, the one thing that I really don’t like about Tieks is that they prompt no sweaty feet since it is leather, but my feet still sweat. This isn’t enough to keep me away though. While my feet do sweat, the Tieks dry pretty quickly and they are not wet the next morning, to me that’s all that matters.
Even with the one downfall and the large price tag that could probably buy me triple the amount of shoes, these flats are not only cute and stylish but they are portable. They have a youth look to them but are comfortable and don’t make my feet hurt.
While being a college student these are versatile, and definitely worth the price tag even for a college student. The only time I am not wearing these shoes is if there is snow on the ground, but then I just put them in my purse for the destination and wear my snow boots.
