Before I was diagnosed as gluten-intolerant I use to eat peanut butter sandwiches everyday. Like literally EVERYDAY. I ate peanut butter sandwiches from pretty much first grade until sophomore year in college. It was an easy, low-cost, and my favorite!
The reason I am telling you this story is because once I found out I was gluten-free my peanut butter sandwiches went out the door with bagels, wraps, and more. Let’s just say I was extremely sad as I use to buy cheap whole grain bread and peanut butter and that was lunch (well plus fruit and veggies). Going to try out gluten-free bread and finding that it was in the freezer section was not what I was expecting. Sure, the frozen bread lasts longer, but it tastes like cardboard. People don’t lie about that. The problem is gluten-free bread cooks so different and it is often more dense. I thought long gone were the days of soft peanut butter sandwiches until I found the brand LiveGFree.
LiveGfree is a line of gluten-free products that I found is being sold at ALDI and some are on Amazon, but if you want the bread and bagels I wouldn’t order those online.
You should not buy bread in the freezer section, to me that is just weird. I do not care that is how gluten-free bread is supposedly preserved until you thaw it to eat, but that’s just weird. And FINALLY a company created bread that is soft and pretty comparative to regular bread. Yes it isn’t going to last forever like the freezer bread, but the freezer bread is like cardboard anyway. This bread is soft, real, and so good.
Mac and Cheese
Trying the mac and cheese made me nervous because I really did not like Annie’s gluten-free mac and cheese, and it really ruined my taste for it for a while. The pasta is made out of rice, which does give it a chewier taste but nothing too noticeable. I found it to be really good! Now I don’t eat mac and cheese a lot, but when I need some comfort food I know where I am going.
Two words: QUINOA and BROWN RICE. This was what I was most excited to try as many gluten-free pastas are very carb-filled, but QUINOA and BROWN RICE!! If you try only one thing from this list, please try this pasta. I cannot recommend it enough to all of you enough, you need to try it!!
Believe me, I have tried many MANY gluten-free brownie mixes and they tend to be crumbly. This box mix is my new favorite over the King Author gluten-free brownie mix, because of the fudginess it holds. Need some sweets then try out this brownie mix.
The LiveGFree Brand has many other products including boxed pre-made cookies, chips, other mixes, and more. Check them out and see all they can offer you, definitely a high-quality company for your gluten-free needs.
